To review the evidence for the effectiveness of screening programmes to improve health professionals' detection of, and response to, violent victimisation in people with severe mental illness. More specifically, this review aims to examine the effectiveness of the following interventions.
- Screening programmes that aim to improve health professionals' detection of victimisation among people with severe mental illness, followed by referral to appropriate external specialist services.
- Screening programmes that aim to improve health professionals' detection of victimisation among people with severe mental illness, followed by interventions within these healthcare settings to reduce the adverse health and social outcomes of this victimisation.
