Planned relaparotomy versus relaparotomy on demand for treatment of secondary peritonitis

This review aims to determine the outcomes of the planned relaparotomy strategy versus conventional, on demand relaparotomy strategy in the management of secondary peritonitis. The specific outcomes measured were 30-day mortality as primary outcome, per events and per patients complication type and rates, and the economic impact of planned vs on-demand strategy as secondary outcomes.

This is a protocol.
