Interventions for lateral hip pain (tendinopathy or bursitis)

The objective of this systematic review is to summarize the evidence for the benefits and safety of interventions used in patients with lateral hip pain due to tendinopathy or bursitis (Greater Trochantateric Pain Syndrome). Several interventions (oral pain medication, corticosteroid injections, physical therapy and surgical interventions) are available for lateral hip pain. Interventions available for lateral hip pain will be assessed and will be compared to each other, placebo or no treatment. Main outcomes will be pain and function to assess benefits of interventions and adverse events to assess safety.

This is a protocol.
