Screening sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy for reducing colorectal cancer mortality in asymptomatic persons

To identify and review the available data from randomised controlled trials on the reduction in mortality achieved by screening asymptomatic individuals (without identifiable risk factors) for colorectal cancer using flexible sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy compared to unscreened patients, and to determine if flexible sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy achieves the highest reduction in mortality.

This is a protocol.
