High versus low ligation of the inferior mesenteric artery in curative surgery for non-metastatic rectal cancer

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows:

The main objective is to assess the effect of high IMA ligation for short- and long-term outcomes in curative surgery for non-metastatic rectal cancer patients and the secondary objective is to assess whether the effects of high ligation of IMA differ according to cancer staging, type of surgical approach or presence of preoperative treatment.

This is a protocol.
