Methods Support Unit

Providing advice, peer review and training from specialists in Cochrane methods and statistics

Our Methods Support Unit (MSU) aims to improve the consistency and methodological quality of Cochrane reviews through advice, peer review, training and the development of educational resources. We also support the implementation of new methods in Cochrane reviews.

MSU works collaboratively with Cochrane groups by providing support on request from authors and editors, and in response to queries escalated from the Community Support Team or from the Editor in Chief directly.

The MSU consists of experienced statisticians and methodologists. We also work with the appropriate Cochrane Methods Group to provide help, where necessary.

Web clinics

The Methods Support Unit runs regular web clinics to support Cochrane authors, editors, and staff with methodological questions related to producing Cochrane protocols and reviews.

Upcoming web clinics and archive of recordings
