Title: Patient and Public Involvement Lead
Specifications: Fixed term contract for 1 year - Full time
Salary: £48,000 per annum
Location: Remote first (home based) with some travel expected for in person meetings, United Kingdom, Germany or Denmark
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Cochrane is a global, independent network of health practitioners, researchers, patient advocates and others, responding to the challenge of making vast amounts of research evidence useful for informing decisions about health. Our Central Executive Team supports this work and is divided into four directorates.
This role reports to the Head of Membership, Learning and Support and sits within the Membership, Learning and Support team in the Publishing & Technology Directorate.
Key areas of responsibility include
- Lead on Cochrane’s patient and public involvement strategy.
- Building, maintaining and supporting a diverse, global community of patients and members of the public, including Cochrane’s Patient and Public Network Executive.
- Enabling, supporting, and advocating patient and public involvement across company activities, governance, and globally.
- Monitoring and measuring the impact of patient and public involvement across Cochrane’s systematic reviews and company activities.
- Maintaining and creating partnerships with relevant organizations, such as the WHO.
- Sharing and advocating for accessible health evidence and evidence-based medicine with the public, including working with internal Communications team on projects, when applicable.
- Contributing to fundraising and project development.
The successful candidate is expected to have
- Knowledge of/experience in global health and/or health research
- Interpersonal and relationship-building
Public /community engagement
Program / project management (planning, development, implementation)
Monitoring & evaluation of projects
Ability to work independently and on their own initiative
