The objective of this review will be to evaluate the efficacy and safety of administering lactoferrin for the post-operative management of term neonates, measured by the incidence of sepsis, mortality and duration of hospital stay. We aim to evaluate benefits and harms with the use of lactoferrin in individual gastrointestinal pathologies and specific lactoferrin product, if sufficient data are available.
