Trust in scientific evidence depends on more than methodological rigor and transparency. In this webinar, Professor Lisa Bero will examine research integrity in systematic reviews, exploring conflicts of interest, the difference between transparency and independence from commercial interests, and the factors that shape our belief in research and its findings.

As part of the Cochrane presents: Stories and ideas from thought leaders in evidence synthesis series, this webinar will offer an opportunity to reconnect with one of the influential voices who has helped shape both Cochrane and the wider evidence-synthesis community. The series invites distinguished contributors to reflect on their personal journeys, share lessons learned from their involvement in advancing evidence synthesis, and explore the ideas, challenges, and opportunities that will shape its future.

The webinar will include a brief presentation, followed by a discussion, allowing attendees to engage directly with Professor Bero, ask questions, and contribute their own perspectives. The conversation and Q&A will be moderated by Ella Flemyng, Head of Editorial Policy and Research Integrity at Cochrane.
