This web clinic will introduce the forthcoming Cochrane-Campbell Handbook for Qualitative Evidence Synthesis. Qualitative Evidence Syntheses (QESs) are an increasingly important type of systematic review and a valuable tool for global and local decision-making. The handbook is a comprehensive step by step guide to plan, conduct and report a QES or a mixed methods review with a qualitative component.
The presenters will provide hints and tips on how to use the handbook focusing on how to get started and how to choose between QES methods. Key developments will be highlighted, including sampling in QES, methods for integrating diverse types of evidence, time sensitive QES, public and professional involvement, equity, diversity and inclusion, reflexivity, and the responsible use of AI. Complementary resources will also be highlighted including two new forthcoming Cochrane Learning modules and reporting guidelines for QES (PRISMA-QES).
