I am the founder and sole director of EQUAL Research and Innovations Ltd (see Item 12 for company description). I do not receive payment for this role.
I have an active collaboration with the Biomedical Research for the 21st Century (BioMed21) Collaboration, an international group of scientists, policy specialists, and communication experts promoting human-relevant research methods and reduced reliance on animal models. This collaboration involves joint publications and grant applications; no funds have been paid to me or to my company as part of this collaboration, beyond the conference travel support declared under Item 2.
My salary and career progression as an academic researcher are, in part, dependent on producing high-quality journal publications.
I am employed by University College London (UCL). UCL, as an institution, holds collaborations and funding relationships with a wide range of funders, including industry funders, across many departments and research groups. I do not personally receive funding from these institutional relationships beyond my standard UCL salary, and I have no personal role in negotiating or directing them.
