To summarize the diagnostic accuracy of point-of-care nucleic acid-based tests to detect HIV infection in infants and children aged 18 months or less exposed to HIV infection.

To investigate sources of heterogeneity in test accuracy estimates including infant/child age, sample type, test type, site of index test evaluation, geographical location, and methodological quality of included studies.
