3.1.3 Sub-committees of the Steering Group

This section was updated by the Secretariat on 15 March 2011.

This section and section 3.1.4 inform the document, Structure, remit and membership of groups accountable to the CCSG. The Steering Group currently has two sub-committees:

[Former] Operations and Finance Committee (OFC)

Until November 2011, the Operations and Finance Committee was responsible for making interim decisions on behalf of the full Steering Group, in between its two face-to-face meetings per year, on issues other than monitoring and registration. It was also responsible for co-ordinating and ensuring good communication among groups responsible for core functions and the Steering Group. In November 2011 it was agreed that the Steering Group would assume responsibility for those tasks it had formerly delegated to the OFC, and disband the OFC. In addition to its two face-to-face meetings per year, the full Steering Group now meets an additional four times per year by teleconference.

Monitoring and Registration Committee (MaRC)

The Monitoring and Registration Committee is responsible for establishing and implementing processes for monitoring and registering Cochrane groups (entities), and for making recommendations to the full Steering Group about their registration/de-registration (see Appendix 2 of this Manual).

[Former] Publishing Policy Group (PPG)

In March 2010 the responsibilities of the former Publishing Policy Group, for providing advice to the Collaboration’s publishers on the contents of The Cochrane Collaboration’s products, passed to the Cochrane Editorial Unit
