Interventions for preventing falls in older people living in the community

The Cochrane review "Interventions for preventing falls in elderly people", first published in 1997, has been withdrawn from The Cochrane Library, and is being replaced with two new reviews. Lesley Gillespie, a researcher from Dunedin, New Zealand, describes the main results from the first of these. The second review, which is of fall-prevention interventions in nursing care facilities and hospitals, is nearing completion.
