Air ambulances have become familiar to many people as a way to get medical care to badly injured patients and to get them quickly to hospital. In March 2013, a team of researchers published their Cochrane Review examining the evidence for the effects of these helicopters on survival. Samuel Galvagno from the Department of Anesthesiology, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Division of Trauma Anesthesiology, Program in Trauma, R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in the USA tells us what they found.
