Online randomization and allocation concealment

Research, including a Cochrane methodology review, shows that trials which fail to conceal the treatment allocation are more likely to produce biased results. One way to achieve this is through centralised, computer randomisation. TENALEA (www.tenalea.com), funded in part by the European Union, was set up to make this easier for researchers, as explained by one of the developers, Emile van der Donk.
