Flexible learning: EPPI-Centre Masters-level courses can now be taken completely online

Two new, fully online, modules are now available for the MSc in Research for public policy and practice (launched in 2005, as Evidence for Public Policy and Practice). It is now possible to study for the MSc entirely at a venue of your own choice, at a distance from the EPPI-Centre's base in London, UK. The MSc will equip you with conceptual and practical skills for conducting and appraising systematic reviews and evaluating the potential for and implementation of evidence-informed policy.

Students can learn at a distance using a combination of online group and individual activities. They receive support from experienced course tutors at mutually arranged times and written feedback on draft work. Students carry out activities at their own pace and at times of their own choosing, but are asked to complete specified tasks to set deadlines.

A number of the MSc's modules are also taught using face-to-face sessions for students who prefer this style of learning. All the modules can also be taken as stand-alone courses with or without credit at Masters level. All are quality assured by the Institute of Education at the University of London.

Online versions are available for the courses: (i) Systematic reviews for policy and practice (formerly Research synthesis for policy and practice); (ii) Participative research and policy; (iii) Methods for research synthesis: from meta-analysis to meta-ethnography; (iv) Introduction to social research; and (v) Dissertation module. MSc students have access to EPPI-Reviewer review software as part of their course, and often conduct a systematic map or review as part of their dissertation.
