Report from XIth Annual Meeting of the Iberoamerican Cochrane Network, May 2012 - Lima, Peru

The XIth Annual Meeting of the Iberoamerican Cochrane Network on the theme "Generating Evidence for Clinical Practice and Public Health Policy" was held in Lima, Peru from 23-26 May 2012. It was celebrated in conjunction with the XIIIth LatinCLEN Congress (the Latin American Branch of INCLEN - International Clinical Epidemiology Network), and hosted by Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. The event was attended by 225 participants from all over the Iberoamerican region, mainly from Peru, and included organised lectures, seminars, meetings, workshops and presentation of research papers.

Furthermore, the regular periodic meeting of the Iberoamerican Cochrane Network was held on 26 May 2012. This session was attended by 35 members from Cochrane coordinating and associated centres across the region. In addition to the themes of core interest for The Cochrane Collaboration and some other common topics, a special emphasis was placed on implementation of the key performance indicators, including a valuable discussion on the outcomes for the past period and the current targets. The next (XIIth) Annual Meeting of the Iberoamerican Cochrane Network will take place in Mexico in 2013.
