YourHealthNet website: explaining Cochrane Reviews
The Cochrane Consumers & Communication Review Group has developed a new web site which explains Cochrane systematic reviews with easy diagrams, text and audio, including stories from people who used reviews. The site is called YourHealthNet and is at http://navigatingeffectivetreatments.org.au. It has been written to be relevant to all types of Cochrane Reviews – not specifically those of the Consumers & Communication Group.
The Group developed diagrams to explain the concept, contents and process of publishing a Cochrane systematic review. See http://navigatingeffectivetreatments.org.au/exploring_systematic_reviews.html. These are intended to be tools for anyone interested or involved in The Cochrane Collaboration or interested in evidence-based health care, and systematic reviews, more generally.
The site also provides audio recordings of people’s accounts of using Cochrane Reviews to inform their health decision making.
The "Resources" page includes links to other consumer-oriented health research websites, including the wonderful site developed by the Cochrane Dementia and Cognitive Improvement Review Group. Links to the site from other Groups and organisations are welcome.
