Call for nominations: Chris Silagy Prize 2013

This is the call for nominations for the 2013 Chris Silagy Prize, to be awarded at the Quebec Colloquium (19-23 September 2013). We urge you to take this opportunity to nominate colleagues who embody the spirit of the Prize as outlined in the scope below.

Nominations should be emailed to Sally Green (sally.green@med.monash.edu.au) by 31 July 2013, please. Nominations must include the name of the nominator and two seconders, an emailed acceptance of the nomination by the nominee, and a one-page statement outlining the reason for the nomination. The Prize recipient will be determined by the selection committee based only on this one-page statement, assessing its alignment with the scope of the Prize as outlined below.

Scope of the Chris Silagy Prize
Potential recipients of the Chris Silagy Prize are required to have:

- made an extraordinary and sustained contribution to The Cochrane Collaboration that would not be recognised outside the scope of this Prize, for example, in administration, communication, support or co-ordination. Publishing a piece of research work or preparing a Cochrane systematic review do not fall within the scope of this Prize as they qualify for other awards and methods of recognition. The Prize is not awarded for a single task, but for a sustained contribution to the ethos of the Collaboration.

- made a contribution that exceeds the expectations of their employment;

- been identified by their peers as consistently contributing to a spirit of collaboration.

We are sure that the awarding of the Chris Silagy Prize in Quebec will be a highlight, and look forward to receiving nominations.
