Statistical approaches to meta-analysis: courses in Melbourne and
Sydney

Sender: Steve McDonald

The Australasian Cochrane Centre in collaboration with the Institute for International Health are pleased to announce a series of courses for statisticians, reviewers and epidemiologists in March and April 2004. The course leaders are Julian Higgins and Alex Sutton.

A 3-day course in Melbourne 30 March - 1 April 2004 is targeted at statistical editors and statistical advisors attached to Collaborative Review Groups;
statisticians who are contributing to, or expect to contribute to, a Cochrane Review; and editors and RGCs in Review Groups with advanced statistical skills. The course will focus on statistical issues in meta-analysis that apply specifically to Cochrane reviews. The two courses in Sydney (5-6 April and 7 April) are more introductory and includes a day devoted to Bayesian analysis.

Further information on the content of the courses and the registration process can be found at http://www.cochrane.org.au/statistics/index.html
