Major Changes to Section 8 of the Reviewers' Handbook

Version 4.2.1 of the Reviewers' Handbook will be released in The Cochrane Library Issue 1/2004, and will then also be available from the Cochrane website. This version contains a major rewrite of all the core material on analysis and presentation of results contained in Section 8. There are also other changes, notably a new appendix 8a containing advice on using graphs.

Because this is such an important update, we have sent the new Section 8 to all entities in advance of its more public release with The Cochrane Library. We hope this will allow entities chance to look at the content before reviewers start using it.

Finally, thanks to the editors of this section of the Handbook (Jon Deeks, Doug Altman and Julian Higgins) for all their hard work in getting this section revised.
