General information on 2009 elections

The following people are due to leave the Steering Group at the Annual General Meeting in Singapore on 12 October 2009:

3. Joy Oliver (resigned effective February 2009) - representing Centre staff.

4. Janet Wale (*not* eligible to be nominated again, as Janet has served two terms) - representing the Consumer Network.

[Note for Centre staff: Please note that Joy's position must be filled by a member of Centre staff (who is neither a Director nor a Branch Director), since the other representatives are Lisa Bero, Steve McDonald and Rob Scholten.]

The proposed schedule for the 2009 elections is as follows:

2. Deadline for nominations: 25 May 2009

3. Circulation of URL for web voting form: 26 May 2009

4. Deadline for votes: 26 June 2009

5. Announce results of election: 30 June 2009

[Note: Each of these dates may change by one or two days.]

In October 2008, the Steering Group agreed the recommendation of the Elections Working Group to decrease the voting period from six to four weeks. All other timescales remain similar to previous years.
