Special election of a TSC representative to the Steering Group, January 2006
In 2005, the Steering Group agreed to the creation of a new position to represent Trials Search Co-ordinators. Dymphna Hermans was elected to this position, effective immediately upon completion of the election process.

Regular elections
The results of this year's elections to the Cochrane Collaboration Steering Group are as follows:

- Representing Cochrane Centres: Joy Oliver (South Africa)

- Representing Cochrane Consumers: Janet Wale (Australia) (re-elected for a second term)

Special election of a Co-ordinating Editor representative to the Steering Group, November 2006
Adrian Grant, who joined the Steering Group in October 2005, became Co-Chair of the Steering Group at the Annual General Meeting during the Dublin Colloquium and so has ceased to represent Co-ordinating Editors specifically. Jonathan Craig (Co-ordinating Editor of the Renal Group) has been elected to represent Co-ordinating Editors on the Cochrane Collaboration Steering Group, effective from January 2007.

Dymphna Hermans, who joined the Steering Group in February 2006, has resigned from the Dementia and Cognitive Improvement Group, and can therefore no longer represent TSCs on the Steering Group. Ruth Foxlee, Trials Search Co-ordinator of the Wounds Review Group, based in the UK, joins the Steering Group effective from January 2007 in the position of TSC representative. Ruth was the only person nominated for this position. She replaces Dymphna Hermans and her term of office will cease in October 2009, when Dymphna's term of office would have ended.
