Donation options

We want donating to be simple, and, so far as possible, tax-effective. We have set up an account called 'The Cochrane Foundation' to receive donations. The following methods are recommended:

By credit or debit card

By cheque/check

If you are from any country except the USA
(but including the USA, where tax-efficient giving is not an issue)

Use the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) website:

• Enter 'Cochrane Collaboration' in their keyword search, then click the 'Search' button.
• Click on 'Donate' link and follow the instructions.
  (Note: If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the GiftAid box).
• Smile and relax: you have done a good thing!

If you are from the USA and need tax-efficient giving, you have 2 options

1) We've linked up with the New York-based BSUF, to provide a route to allow our US donors to make tax-efficient donations to the Collaboration. All donations made through this route will be used to further our objectives in capacity building globally through education, training and mentoring. To date (June 2010), over $40,000 has been donated through BSUF.

Make a donation with a credit or debit card using the BSUF's online system. Make sure you fill in ‘The Cochrane Collaboration’ as the designated institution you want to support.

2) Use the CAFAmerica webpage:

(minimum donation $500)

• Fill in the details of your donation.
• At the box 'Suggest a foreign charity' write 'Cochrane Collaboration'.
• Please DO NOT tick the box 'OR donate to CAFAmerica', or we will not receive the donation.

By cheque/check

If you are from any country except the USA
(This works, too, for those from the USA where tax-efficient giving is not an issue.)

Send a cheque payable to 'The Cochrane Foundation' to:
